Cross Country 2019

Eudora Press Release

The Wheatridge Cross Country team traveled to Eudora for their final meet of the season on Thursday, October 5th.  The top 15 finishers for each race earned medals and the top 10 League finishers earned a medal or ribbon as well.

The seventh grade girls’ team had a fantastic showing and won the League Championship!  Hannah Elliott took third place overall and was the League Champion with a time of 6:35.  Natalie Yarbrough took sixth place overall and was 3rd place in League with a time of 6:44.  Natalie Claycamp took seventh place overall and was 4th place in League with a time of 6:44.  Charli McGill took seventeenth place overall and was 10th place in League with a time of 6:59.  Olivia Hinck took twenty-fourth place overall and was 15th place in League with a time of 7:15.  Taylor Dryden took forty sixth place overall and was 26th place in League with a time of 7:45.  

The seventh grade boys’ team finished off their season strong.  Gage Graham took 19th place (13th in League) with a time of 6:38.  Jackson Elsey took 26th place (16th in League) with a time of 6:46.  Kyler Leadbetter took 57th place (34th in League) with a time of 7:25.  Trevor Hamilton took 66th place (40th in League) with a time of 7:35.  Tyler Utter took 84th place (51st in League) with a time of 8:10.  Will Korosec took 86th place (53rd in League) with a time of 8:38.

The eighth grade Mustangs competed well in their last Middle School Cross Country race.  Zoey Edwards took seventh place overall and was 6th place in League with a time of 13:36.  Jillian Velasquez took ninth place overall and was 8th place in League with a time of 13:55.  Sadie Helms took eighteenth place overall and was 12th place in League with a time of 15:06.  Donald Chambers took 27th place overall and 18th place in League in the boys’ race with a time of 13:16 (PR).

The Wheatridge Cross Country coaches are incredibly proud of all the hard work the runners put into their season and hope this continues to foster a love of running in all the athletes!
