The seventh grade girls’ one mile kicked off the meet and was followed by the boys’ one mile race. Sixth seventh grade Mustangs ran medal-earning times. Jillian Velasquez took third with a time of 6:32, Sadie Helms took eighth with a time of 7:28 (PR), Jake McClure took first with a time of 5:50, Trent Glaser took second with a time of 6:09 (PR), Cam Gillman took seventh with a time of 6:16 (PR), and Charlie Kuzma took tenth with a time of 6:23 (PR). Other great seventh grade performances were Jacob Adams (6:42), Phoebe States (8:28 PR), Jay Jensen (8:31), Shane Hutchison (8:33), and Jackson Holle (10:47).
The eighth grade girls’ two mile was next and was followed by the boys’ two mile race. Three eighth grade Mustangs ran medal-earning times. Ashlyn Bell took second place with a time of 14:33, Mallory Boden took third place with a time of 14:42, and Blaine Leon took ninth place with a time of 13:08 (PR). Other great eighth grade performances were Ryan Hamilton (13:16), Masen Kindler (13:48 PR), Korbin Poznich (13:49), Jude Graham (14:11), Cale Yokley (14:18 PR), Tyler Williams (14:47 PR), Kaeden Elbert (15:12), Christian Gomez (15:21), Rachel Stuart (16:15 PR), Bethany Stuart (17:03), Cassie Sleet (19:31), and Liz Noll (21:47).
